Bosses at America's E! network have pulled the plug on Caitlyn Jenner's reality show I Am Cait.

The pivotal programme launched as an eight-part documentary series last summer, and chronicled the 66-year-old Olympian's transition from Bruce Jenner to Caitlyn.

I Am Cait is now over for good following the conclusion of its second season in April, 2016.

“We are incredibly proud of the two seasons of I Am Cait, a groundbreaking docu-series that sparked an important and unprecedented global conversation about transgender people, their struggles and triumphs," an E! network spokesperson notes in a statement released to Variety on Tuesday.

She (Jenner) will always remain a part of the E! family, and we look forward to continue following her journey as she appears on (family reality show) Keeping Up with the Kardashians." Caitlyn has been a series regular on Keeping Up with the Kardashians, first appearing as Bruce in 2007 when he was married to Kris Jenner, the matriarch of the Jenner/Kardashian clan, and although it is clear she will be making more appearances on the programme in the future, Caitlyn appears to have other projects on her mind.

One project that's set in stone is an appearance on award-winning drama Transparent. The show's creator Jill Soloway announced the casting news at the GLAAD Media Awards in Beverly Hills back in April, 2016 revealing Jenner will appear alongside Jeffrey Tambor in the series' upcoming third season. Tambor portrays a transgender character called Maura Pfefferman on the show.
