CD: Jack White - Blunderbuss

After stints with the White Stripes, The Raconteurs and The Dead Weather, Jack White finally releases his first solo effort – and for the first time you get the complete, unadulterated Jack.

It’s fantastically inventive rock: the guitarist delights with his high-pitched, yelps and shows off his piano-playing skills.

He covers a range of styles – Sixteen Saltines could be mistaken for a cool new White Stripes track, while Love Interruption is a beautiful duet with the brilliant Ruby Amanfu and I’m Shakin’ is a sizzling Motown-style number.

A fun trip all the way.
