Fame has its ups and downs. Sure, you have millions of fans who adore you, but you also have those who hate you. No wonder these stars are complaining . . .

Kristen Stewart

“Nothing about being a celebrity is desirable. I’m an actor. It’s bizarre to me that everybody’s so obsessive.”

The actress has even gone so far as to compare celeb life with the tortured existence of her vampire boyfriend in the Twilight movies (played by her real-life partner Robert Pattinson). “As a vampire he has a sad, desolate life. Fame is the same.”

Avril Lavigne

The singer has dissed young celebutantes looking for fame. “It’s not something I want to be part of. Some of these girls, that’s how they become famous because of all the clubs they go to. They need that and they want it and they like it. But I’ve got a career.”

Katy Perry

“I’m tired of being famous already. Fame is just a disgusting by-product of what I do.”

Johnny Depp

“I'm shy, paranoid, whatever word you want to use. I hate fame. I've done everything I can to avoid it.”

Jessica Alba

“I don't like being the centre of attention.”

You could’ve fooled us, Jess!
