Chicken stew

Thinking a little bit out of the box with chicken - and you can make the magic happen in your kitchen

Serves 4-6

Preparation time: 15 min

Cooking time: 30 min

15 ml (1 T) oil

8 chicken thighs and drumsticks

1 onion, chopped

1 clove garlic, crushed

250 g white button mushrooms

2 tomatoes, chopped

15 ml (1 T) tomato paste

1 sachet (58 g) chicken cook-in sauce

15 ml (1 T) dried mixed herbs

salt and pepper

1    Heat the oil in a frying pan and brown the chicken pieces. Add the onion, garlic and mushrooms and continue to fry for 3 minutes.

2    Add the tomatoes, tomato paste and cook-in sauce, following the packet instructions. Season with the mixed herbs, salt and pepper.

3    Simmer for 30 minutes or until the chicken is tender and done. Serve with pap.
