Barely a month since it opened to the public, the “terrifying” glass bridge in China cracked right under a tourist’s feet.

The crack on the suspension bridge, also known as “Brave Men’s Bridge,” reportedly happened after the tourist dropped a thermos.
'Everybody is screaming'

“I heard a bang from under… everybody is screaming,” recounted one tourist. “I cried, ‘It’s really cracked! It’s really cracked!’” Located in Shiniuzhai National Geological Park, the bridge is suspended 3,500 feet above sea level.

The glass is apparently 25 times stronger than regular glass and “will remain firm even if tourists are bouncing on it”.

The Park’s administration released a statement after the incident.

“This has no impact on safety,” they told New York Times.
