Chris Brown has reportedly filed paternity documents in family court.

In March it was revealed the 26-year-old singer father a little girl called Royalty with former model Nia Guzman.

And according to TMZ, Chris has filed legal papers in Houston asking for a judge to intervene in the talks he is having with Nia over child support and custody issues.

'Chris has been paying Nia what he believes is a fair amount'

The website reports the pair are “at war” over 13-month-old Royalty of late, as apparently Nia has been “demanding [$15,000] R185 000) a month in child support, way more than Chris says is fair”.

“Chris has been paying Nia what he believes is a fair amount -- she claims he's been paying $2,500 (R30 000) a month,” the outlet writes. “He wants a judge to set the figure, which he's confident will be closer to his number than hers.”

It’s claimed Chris is also asking the courts to establish clear custody parameters. The star is said to have accused Nia of denying him the right to see their daughter.

Chris fathered Royalty while he was still in a romantic relationship with model Karrueche Tran. The pair have since split and although the Deuces hitmaker hasn’t been able to repair his relationship with Karrueche, he’s working hard to be a good father to his little girl. Chris did a stint in prison last year and he recently recalled how becoming a father helped him focus on a more positive future.

“For me, there comes a time where people have to grow up and start becoming more of an adult and taking responsibility, and I think this was just a blessing in disguise with my daughter," he revealed during a chat on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show. "I get a chance to like look at her and you know, teach her stuff, the right path, and also be a father in my daughter's life.”
