This can only mean good things for our future on the cricket front! The baby Proteas have won the World Cup.  Our U19 cricket team beat Pakistan, two time winners of the tournament, by six wickets to clinch the title.

The match was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. South African Captain, Aiden Markram was named player of the tournament for his 370 runs. He scored two centuries and a half century.

Markram had this to say about the teams win: “It feels amazing. This is the first win for South Africa at a global ICC event, so I can’t even describe how I feel right now. The boys are over the moon.”

Congratulations, boys.
