Creamy pork with fresh dates

Serves 4

500 g pork steaks or chops

Salt and freshly ground black pepper

30 ml olive oil

30 g butter

100 g leeks, roughly chopped

120 g fresh dates (or use prunes as a replacement)

250 ml cream

30 ml strong prepared mustard

250 g young green beans, halved

Season the pork with salt and pepper.

Heat the oil and butter in a pan and fry the meat until brown and crispy.

Spoon out.

Fry the leeks in the pan juices until soft.

Return the meat to the pan, followed by the dates, cream and mustard.

Bring to the boil and simmer until the meat is done.

Stir in the beans and simmer until just done.

Serve with a green salad.
