Daniel Craig has attended an exclusive "dine and sleep" evening at Windsor Castle.

The 45-year-old actor ? who filmed a James Bond spoof with Queen Elizabeth for the London 2012 Olympics opening ceremony ? and his wife, Rachel Weisz (43), went to the dinner party hosted by the queen and her husband, Prince Philip, on Monday evening.

According to The Court Circular ? the official record of engagements carried out by the monarch ? a number of other stars were also in attendance at the event, including Hollywood director Tim Burton and his actress wife, Helena Bonham Carter.

Princess Anne and her husband, Vice-Admiral Sir Timothy Laurence, also attended the party, which saw guests enjoy dinner and a look at items from the Royal Collection, one of the largest and most important art collections in the world, before staying overnight and departing after breakfast.

Earlier this month, the queen was described as the "most memorable Bond girl yet" in reference to the London 2012 skit alongside the 007 star, and was presented with an honorary BAFTA award in recognition of a lifetime's support of British film and television at a reception at Windsor Castle.

BAFTA chairman John Willis said: "More recently Her Majesty the Queen starred at the London Olympics as the most memorable Bond girl yet.

"I am delighted that this evening has given us the opportunity to give something back. I have the great honour to announce that we are to present Her Majesty with an honorary BAFTA today, in recognition of her outstanding patronage of the film and television industries."
