Sceptics raised eyebrows when the Duchess of Cambridge emerged from the Lindo Wing hours after the birth of her second child looking exquisite.

One Russian paper even went has far as to claim the royal birth was a fake. She was too beautiful too have just given birth, Komsomolskaya Pravda said, the princess must have been born via surrogate.

But 30 years ago, Kate's mother-in-law walked through the same doors cradling her second child, looking just as immaculate.

One of the benefits of being a royal mom, Mail Online points out, is having a beauty crack team at your disposal. The site reports that Kate had her own hair dresser, make-up artist and stylist on hand to beautify her after giving birth.

On Monday afternoon, Kensington Palace announced that the Princess Cambridge would be named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana -- a nod to both the Queen and Diana.
