Unfortunately the humour is quite dull and will probably keep only younger kids giggling.

Rated: 2/5  2012 96 min PG Comedy Greg (ZACHARY GORDON), a 13-year old who longs for a summer holiday spent indoors, is forced to spend time with his dad, Frank (Steve Zahn), who wants to enjoy the summer sun. After a few boring outdoor activities Greg realises he doesn’t have anything in common with his dad and manages to get a job at a country club, where he lazes about, gets into trouble with his best friend, Rowley (Robert Capron), and tries to win the heart of his dream girl, Holly (Peyton List). The plot is based on the third and fourth instalments of the Diary of a Wimpy Kid book series written by Jeff Kinney and adapted for the screen by Wallace Wolodarsky, who wrote various episodes of The Simpsons. Unfortunately the humour is quite dull and will probably keep only younger kids giggling, although teens might also enjoy the characters’ holiday antics which might make them yearn for some time away from school.
