Earthquake rattles parts of SA

Everybody is talking about the tremor that shook parts of the country earlier today.

The quake reportedly measured 5,3 on the Richter Scale. Although it seemed at first the tremors were only felt in Joburg, Twitter users say they felt the tremors in KwaZulu-Natal, the Free State and even Botswana. “It was bad," says Pretoria's Prof Fhumulani Mulaudzi, who was at the University of Pretoria at the time of the quake. "Things were falling off the walls and breaking.”

In some areas, the tremors set windows rattling and car alarms off. Some South Africans started to panic, going as far as to evacuate their offices. Others, however, have used the opportunity to exercise their senses of humour.
