A little unsure about where to be, what to bring when you cast your vote today? Read this.

What time are the stations open?

You can cast your vote between 7 am and 9 pm.

How do I know where I need to vote?

Type your address in here to find your nearest voting station. Not sure where you're registered? Type your ID number in here to find out.

What do I need to take with?

-         Your ID book. -         Just in case, take your own pen.

-         Make sure you make your cross within the box -- you don;t want your vote to be discounted. -         You can't take photos anywhere near the voting booth.

What if I have problems with my sight or hearing?

The Electoral Commission (IEC) and the South African National Council for the Blind (SANCB) have come up with a voting aid (the Universal Ballot Template  or UBT) to help people with disabilities and special cast their vote.

The UBT can be used by:

  • Blind and partially-sighted people
  • Low-vision users
  • People who are dyslexic
  • The elderly
  • People with low literacy
  • People with motor and nervous conditions which do not allow for a steady hand
For more info on the UBT, click here. If you have any other queries, call the IEC call centre: 0800 11 8000 Operating hours: Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm
