Volcanoes are pretty awesome (although we could do without seeing one erupt in real life!). And can you guess if South Africa has one or not?

About 75% of the volcanoes on Earth are found in the Pacific Ring of Fire, an area around the Pacific Ocean where tectonic plates meet. South Africa has its own volcano, but it's about 2 000km away near the isolated Marion Island. The last time it erupted was in 1980 (although it was a fairly small eruption by global standards!).
