You may think twice before ordering from your favourite fast food joint.

In a recent Reddit thread titled 'Fast food workers-What should we never order from you?', people who claim to work at fast food restaurants have shared the dishes we should never order.

As you can imagine, the viral thread revealed some pretty gross industry secrets. Here are some of the most interesting revelations:

1. McDonald's

"I wouldn’t order from McDonald’s after ten pm. We had a restroom where the sink was outside of the door. At night management counts money and does paperwork, so it is pretty much anarchy. Anyway, several people would use the restroom without washing their hands or putting on gloves and then make food. Or pick food off the floor and serve it. I’ve seen some bad shit back in my time at McDonalds on the late shift." – The_Pastry_Dragon

"I used to work at McDonald’s. Don’t order our fish patties. No one ever does and I swear some days we’d make a batch and it would sit there all day until someone ordered some." – blakjak852

"Cheese from mcdonalds during summer. flies constantly land on that shiz." – NeuroApathy

2. Subway

"At our subway, the "oven roasted" chicken was actually boiled in a microwave." - Hotpotabo

"I recommend staying away from the Tuna and the Meatballs unless you can tell it is a fresh batch." – Farathil

“I just left my shift at Subway. Our grilled chicken apparently was 'pink' according to the guy who called the restaurant. It's already cooked and we still have problems with it.” - Firecrackers

3. Burger King

"If you're really short on time, don't count on chicken tenders or grilled chicken sandwiches or salads being made quickly at Burger King. I remember that the tenders took forever to cook and we didn't really make them that often, so most times they were made to order. Same for the grilled chicken." - shmandameyes

4. Starbucks

"All Starbucks food is reheated frozen food. Ridiculous how little people realize that. Doesn't mean it doesn't taste good, it's just not fresh at all and incredibly overpriced."-likeabaker

"Worked at Starbucks for a while and had a lady ask us if we were baking anymore banana bread for the day.. The look on her face when I told her it comes to us on a truck." - imklax

5. Wendy's

"My brother's girlfriend used to work at Wendy's and a saying there was (about fries) 'They aren't old until they're sold.'" - Wrinklestiltskin.

6. Del Taco

"I use to work at Del Taco. Just don't order anything from us. I can still hear their screams when I close my eyes." - FATBIRD333

"I once had a co-worker that was so excited to work just up the street from Del Taco. He raved about it so much I thought 'hey, maybe I'm missing something and decided to try it out.'

Holy jeebus, it was some of the worst crap I ever put in my mouth. How do they keep their lettuce both firm (but not crunchy) and stale at the same time?" - DoctorFlimFlam

7. Carl's Jr.

"Chicken Tenders. We were supposed to throw them out after 20 minutes. We were told not to do that. We would sometimes serve 1-2 hour old tenders." - i_Ryan

While some of these restaurants may be international franchises, it does make you wonder about the local ones, doesn't it?
