The rock is 2013 top grossing actor with a total R1,3 billion made at the global box office from movies, GI Joe: Retaliation and Fast & Furious 6.

He is not the most-paid actor in Hollywood nor was he in the highest-grossing movie this year but Dwayne Johnson is 2013’s top-grossing actor according to Forbes.

His box office movies made a whopping $1,3 billion (R13 billion) at the global box office this year. The list is based on the number of movies actors starred in and the amount of money the movies made at the box office.

The wrestler-turned-actor beat Robert Downey Jnr, who took second place when Iron Man 3 collected an impressive $1,2 billion (R12 billion) at the box office, making it the highest-grossing movie this year.

The Rock’s two big movies and two smaller ones pushed him right to the top. He’s been a busy man, starring in the successful Fast & Furious 6, G I Joe: Retaliation, Pain & Gain and Snitch.

Following on the heels of the two actors is Steve Carell with a box-office estimate of $964 million (R9,64 billion), his most successful movie this year being Despicable Me 2.

With a total of $887 million (R8,87 billion) is Vin Diesel, who also benefited from the successful Fast & Furious 6 movie.

The only woman in the top 5 is Sandra Bullock with an estimated $862 million (R8,62 billion) from her two latest movies, Gravity and The Heat.
