Fergie and Josh Duhamel are apparently content with taking on full-time parenting.

The famous couple have 17-month-old son Axl together and have reportedly relied on the help of nannies to look after the little one amid their hectic schedules.

But now Josh has a "long break" from filming his new CBS series Battle Creek it's thought he's keen to just focus on being a dad for a while. And with Fergie set to release her second solo album and tour this year, her husband and son are reportedly planning to join her on the road.

'Fergie and Josh are definitely ready to tackle things on their own'

"Full-time parenting just works for them. They're great when it comes to sharing the responsibility and going with the flow," a source told US OK! magazine. "It puts both of their minds at ease knowing that one of them will always be watching Axl.

"They love the people that have helped raise him so far, but Fergie and Josh are definitely ready to tackle things on their own."

The cute trio are often spotted out together, with Axl getting bigger and bigger each time he's photographed.

For the couple, the key to parenting is said to be "laughing a lot" and trusting their instincts when it comes to what's best for their son.

Axl's name received mixed reactions following the announcement after his birth in August 2013. But Fergie never regretted her decision, inspired by Guns N' Roses star Axl Rose, and recently recalled how it came to her in a dream.

"It was at the stage we were picking names - we'd already picked Jack after one of my uncles, who had passed away - and Axl Jack seemed to fit and sounded right. I worked with Slash for a while. They aren't really friends at all, they don't like each other, but whatever," she smiled.
