The proceeds from her sales go towards supporting various amazing causes.

Australian Cassie Gee has already made about $1 000 (R13 000) selling her paintings and is now getting commissions from customers in New Zealand and the United States – and Cassie is only five years old.

The little girl from Sydney has been a “professional artist” since the age of three. She uses a combination of acrylic paint, resin and glitter to create galaxy landscapes.

According to her website, she loves going to the beach, elephants, fairies and, of course, painting – which she often does with just a fork or her hands.

The proceeds from sales of her works go towards causes like Essentials 4 Women SA, Holt Family Fundraiser and Royal Society for the Blind.

Cassie’s mother, Linda Gee, discovered her daughter’s artistic talents two years ago when she gave the little girl a canvas and a few tubes of paint in order to keep her busy, Viral Thread reports.

“I have a lot of supplies as I paint for a hobby,” Linda says. “I gave Cassie the canvas and the paints and said, ‘Go do something.’ She came back with it and I said, ‘Oh my God, that’s better than mine!’ ”

The abstract impressionist paintings Cassie has created have been featured on national television in Australia and she’s sold more than 20 of them.

For every painting sold this year she’s donated a set of colouring pencils and a pencil case to disadvantaged children.
