George Michael faces police questioning after falling out of the passenger side of a car on a busy motorway

George Michael is due to be questioned by the police over his car accident last week.

The 49-year-old singer is still in hospital after falling out of the passenger side of a Range Rover on the busy M1 motorway in the UK last Thursday and officers are keen to establish exactly what happened, having already spoken to the driver.

A police spokesperson said: "We’ve definitely not spoken to the 49-year-old male."

Police sources told the Daily Mirror newspaper the accident was still unexplained and "far from cut and dried", with motoring experts, saying it would be "very, very difficult" to fall out of the Range Rover, which was travelling at around 70 mph (113 km/h).

Autocar magazine columnist Colin Goodwin said, "It has a huge side impact bar running through the middle, and electronic motors and equipment for the windows and locking system, which means it takes real effort to open it."

George is still in hospital as a precautionary measure, according to his spokesperson. "He did suffer a couple of bumps and bruises to the head and that's why they’re keeping him in ? to keep an eye on him. He’s making good progress and is looking forward to getting out," he said.
