Girl asks police for maths homework help – cop's response isn't helpful at all

9 + 1 + 1 = 11?

Math problems are not usually what people hit the police up for, but for little Lena Draper (10) from Marion, Ohio in the United States, her homework puzzled her so much that she reached out to her local police department on social media to help her solve a question.

Her mother Molly shared the exchange on her Facebook page.

A Facebook friend was quick to point out that the advice Lt. B.J. Gruber, the police officer who responded to Lena's call for help, dished out didn't exactly add up, but Marion wasn't bothered.

"I thought it was wonderful they took the time to work through it with her, right or wrong!" the mom told CNN. "It shows a commitment to building relationships and trust with the community."
