Two goats who are said to have "a reputation" with police officers in Maine, in the United States, damaged their neighbours car when they stamped all over the bonnet.

Two goats with a bad reputation have damaged a man's car.

The bearded animals escaped from their owner's garden in Richmond, Maine, in the north-eastern United States and began trampling all over the neighbour's Ford Focus.

The vehicle's owner spotted the animals making their getaway and called the local police force when he noticed scratches and dents had been left on the car's bonnet.

Richmond Police Chief Scott MacMaster revealed the goats already had "a reputation" among officers and told the Portland Press Herald newspaper: "They have been known to get loose in the past."
