The controversial band have certainly raised eyebrows with their latest video release.

Controversial local band Die Antwoord seem to raise eyebrows with every new video release. But this time, they may have gone too far.

In the video for Banana Brain, which was released yesterday, lead singers Ninja and Yo-Landi VI$$er repeatedly refer to beleaguered athlete Oscar Pistorius, who is currently serving a prison sentence for the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

Yo-Landi wears a blonde wig and Ninja, who wears prosthetic legs, fires a gun after a traffic light – ostensibly a dig at Oscar who fired a gun out of his cars sunroof in 2012. Newspaper headlines on the court case even appear tied to lampposts in the scene.

Later Ninja throws Yo-Landi, who’s wearing only her underwear, onto a bed and sings to her while waving around a toy gun. Yo-Landi then flees out of the room to the bathroom and locks the door – while Ninja tries to break it down, still with gun in his hand.

A screaming Yo-Landi looks into the mirror after Ninja kicks down the door, he then picks her up and carries her out of the bathroom.

Please note this video is not sensible for sensitive viewers.
