Kelly Khumalo's version of events of the night she allegedly poked Zamokwakhe ‘Bhaka’ Nzama is very different.

The musician and herbalist, who's left eye was swollen closed, claimed that the singer poked him in the left eye with her nail during an argument at the Elangeni Hotel in Durban, a few hours before The Metro FM Music Awards this weekend.

The two were believed to be dating after they were spotted together out and about together in Johannesburg and KwaZulu-Natal in recent weeks. According to Bhaka, Kelly demanded that he leaves his wife Jabu for her. "I told her I will never leave Jabu even if I am not legally married to her," Bhaka told Drum. "I left her hotel room when I saw that she wanted to fight."

But in an email response to City Press, Kelly says Bhaka was the one who attacked her. Earlier last week, Kelly said she had ended her "fling" with him after finding out he was sleeping around.

In the email, she claims the maskandi musician came to see her before the awards to win her back.

“He tried to touch my bum and that didn’t sit well with me. I told him to leave me alone and he said I was rude,” she said.

“He started to be more violent and everyone was uncomfortable around him. He swore at me, and called my mother names. He pushed me against the wall and said he would shoot me and put me next to Senzo’s body,” she said.

The singer says she managed to escape to a friend's room.

Kelly's former boyfriend, Bafana star Senzo Meyiwa was killed at Kelly's home in Vosloorus last year in an alleged armed robbery.

Two people reportedly entered the house and demanded cellphones before fleeing.

“Earlier last week, I had told that man I don’t wanna see him anymore because I don’t even like him as a person,” said Kelly told City Press. “I’m still in love with Senzo – I can’t pretend.”
