“All I saw was the body floating away from the pier.”

The headless body of a man was discovered on the beach of a British seaside town.

The unidentified body was discovered off the coast of Kent, England, following the country’s public holiday the past weekend.

A passer-by alerted police after coming across the body shortly after 10 am on Monday. “All I saw was the body floating away from the pier,” said another eyewitness.

“Officers were called at 10.12 am following the discovery of a man’s body in the water near Deal Pier,” a spokesperson for the Kent police said.

“Officers remain at the scene and are being assisted by the coastguard, lifeboat crews, and South East Coast Ambulance Service.”

Police are currently not treating the death as suspicious but an investigation has been launched into the man’s identity and cause of death.
