Homeland fans are in for a treat as the series makes it's way to SA for season 4 production

Series junkies in SA can expect Christmas to come early this year as the award-winning drama, Homeland will be coming to our shores.

Working on production for its fourth season due to air later this year, news has broke that the series stars will be on South African soil as they start production from mid-June to November including the cast of Claire Danes, Mandy Patinkin, Rupert Friend and Nazanin Boniadi.

The series focuses on Danes' character, Carrie Mathison, a CIA officer with bipolar disorders. The series has received great critical acclaim and scooped up awards including the 2012 Emmy Award for Outstanding Drama Series and the 2011 and 2012 Golden Globes for Best Television Series for a Drama. Danes took home the Emmy for the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series and her co-star, Damian Lewis won the Emmy for Lead Actor in a Drama Series.

Previous seasons have been filmed in Charlotte, North Carolina, Israel, Puerto Rico and Morocco.

According to Channel24, executive producer, Alex Gansa said that they are thrilled to have found a new home in Cape Town and look forward to start production of season 4.
