Honeyed pasta salad

A perfect side for your weekend braai – or a tasty lunch all on it's own.

Serves: 4 Preparation: 10 min Cooking: 10 min

  • 250 g spiral pasta, cooked
  • 170 g tin tuna
  • ½ onion, chopped
  • 100 g cherry tomatoes, sliced
  • 1 green pepper, chopped
  • 250 g mozzarella cheese, grated
  • handful basil, chopped


  • handful parsley
  • handful basil
  • 5 ml (1 t) dried thyme
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 60 ml (¼ c) red wine vinegar
  • 5 ml (1 t) honey
  • 160 ml (? c) olive oil
  • salt and pepper

1. Cook the pasta in a large pot of salted boiling water until just tender then drain well. Cool the pasta under cold running water.

2. Place the pasta and remaining ingredients in a large bowl and mix to combine.

3. Vinaigrette: In a blender, mix the parsley, basil, thyme, garlic, vinegar and honey. Process until finely chopped. While processing pour in the oil in a steady stream until well incorporated. Season with salt and pepper and serve drizzled over the pasta.
