Hugh Grant finds his kids’ lack of acting talent “gratifyingly awful”.

The 54-year-old British actor is father to three children with two women.

And although he’s been extremely successful in Hollywood, Hugh is happy to report it doesn’t appear as if any of his children will follow suit.

'Displayed no talent at all'

"[My kids are] not allowed to go into show business,” he told USA Today. “I watched one of them in his nativity school play and he was gratifyingly awful. Displayed no talent at all.

Turned his back to the audience. Yawned. I was very proud of him."

Hugh shares a three-year-old daughter and a two-year-old son with Tinglan Hong, and it was revealed last year he fathered a boy, who is now two years old, with Swedish TV producer Anna Elisabet Eberstein.

All of his children live near him in London and he sees them everyday.

When Hugh and his little ones go on excursions in the English capital city, they often find themselves on public transport.

"Two of my children are obsessed with buses. They like the top front seat. If we don't get it, we cry," he shared. "I actually do see an awful lot of my children. Having waited 50 years, I'm making up for lost time. I'm touchingly devoted."

Hugh is currently promoting his new film The Rewrite, in which he depicts an Academy Award-winning screenwriter in a career slump who moves from Hollywood to the East Coast for a teaching job. Once he crosses the country, his character falls in love with a single mom.

Hugh would love to write his own script one day, but he’s finding the task challenging.

"Yes, I keep meaning to do that. I always say this, and it's true, the only thing that has ever made me happy is creative writing. But God, it's hard,” he lamented.

The Rewrite, which also stars J.K. Simmons and Marisa Tomei, reaches US theatres February 13.
