Rebecca Gibney is an Adele superfan, and she was told she has just six months to live. So her mom set out to make her dream come true.

Rebecca Gibney is an Adele superfan.

Her face just lights up when she hears the Grammy-winning songstress’ hits on the radio, her mom Tracy says.

The blind 12-year-old from Belfast, Ireland, has cerebral palsy and epilepsy, and was told by doctors last year she had about six months left to live.

So Tracy decided she couldn’t let Rebecca’s hero’s stop in Belfast on her world tour pass them by.

The determined mom started an online campaign on Change.org with an emotive plea to get the singer to visit her daughter. “I have a very sick daughter who has, epilepsy, can’t walk or talk and is tube fed; she has recently became bedbound,” she wrote in her plea. “She listens to Adele from when she gets up in the morning until her bedtime. All I am asking for is for Adele to FaceTime wee Rebecca or send her a video message. It would be her dream come true, Please, please help me for my beautiful sick little daughter,” she wrote on Change.org. To the family’s surprise, within an hour Adele arrived at their Short Strand home in Belfast.

“I can’t believe it; I’m just over the moon,” Tracy told Belfast Telegraph. “My daughter got to meet the person that she loved and that’s what I’ll always take with me for the rest of my life.” Tracy says the star played with young Rebecca’s hair, and held her hand while talking about Disney animated feature film Frozen.

"It's made me feel like I'm the best mummy in the world which I never felt," Tracy told BBC. "Adele told me I was the best mummy in the world too."

The family also received free tickets for the singer’s world tour concert taking place in an intimate arena in Belfast.

"It's amazing. I'll never forget it. And I do know that when Rebecca passes away she did get her dream come true,” Tracy said.
