Idols' top 3 tell all in Q&A

After nine exciting weeks, many filmed performances, millions of viewers voting for their favourites and dozens of nailbiting moments only three finalists remain.

Now the excitement peaks and nerves are stretched to breaking point: who will become South Africa’s sixth Idol? Will it be Lloyd Cele, Elvis Blue or Sindi Nene?

Although the competition between the top three contestants is fiercer than ever they remain good friends. When they arrive at YOU’s studio for a photoshoot they joke around and tease one another nonstop.

We chatted to them and found out in the Idols house Lloyd and Elvis are best friends, while Sindi dreams of blowing her prize money on shoes.

We asked about their favourite Idols moment so far, and here’s what they had to say:

Lloyd: The night I got a standing ovation after I’d sung The Parlotones’ Push Me to the Floor. It was a turning point. That’s when I realised people believe in me and I could make it to the finals.

Elvis: A few weeks ago my wife, Chireze, sent me an SMS before a performance saying, “I’m proud of you.” That’s the sort of thing a guy likes to hear from his wife.

Sindi: Our promotional tour to Durban and Cape Town. In Durban we each had a double-storey hotel suite. We had breakfast in Durban, flew to Cape Town, had lunch then flew back to Johannesburg for supper.

Read all about their worst moments, their favourite and least favourite judges and lots more in YOU of 28 October.
