An 80ft igloo in Alaska, whose owner is suggesting it be converted into a hotel or restaurant, has gone on sale for an asking price of nearly £200,000.

An Igloo has gone on sale for nearly £200,000.

The unique property, situated in Alaska in the north-eastern United States, has been built from a combination of wood and urethrane rubber and stands at 80ft tall.

Although the landmark - which is up for grabs for a whopping £180,000 - has been closed for the past six years, the current owner is selling the property as a great investment opportunity, suggesting the buyer converts it into a seasonal restaurant or hotel.

However, as well as shelling out the hefty sum to buy the structure, the new owner would also need to splash £770,000 on a substation to bring electricity to the igloo, as the closest town stands around 20 miles away.
