You just can't beat SA talent.

After an incredibly successful first South African season of The Voice, record company Universal Music has just announced that they've signed contracts with 10 of the participants!

When the season was initially done, three participants, including winner Richard Stirton, won contracts.

But execs at Universal were so impressed by this year's talented participants that they handed out an additional seven contracts.

Besides Richard, Thembeka Mnguni and Zoe Modiga, Gavin Edwards, Vernon Barnard, Jono Johansen, Johan Anker, Almur Marais, Jeremy Olivier and Austin Lurring will soon have albums on the store shelves.

“We are delighted by the incredible talent that has emerged from season 1 of The Voice SA - the show and the talent far exceeded our expectations!” says Kevin Grenfell, head of A&R at Universal Music.

Already hard at work, Gavin Edwards will be releasing his debut video for his chart topping single Sparks in late July. Thembeka Mnguni and Jono Johansen are both releasing their debut singles on 22 July, while winner Richard Stirton will be releasing his full debut album in late August.

"We believe that the 10 artists that we’ve chosen to work with represent a good cross section of the SA music landscape, with each one having their own unique sound and personality.

Fan can even expect a few music videos from the stars in the coming weeks, including on for Gavin Edwards's single, Sparks. Thembeka and Jono's first singles are set to be released before the end of this month. The show's winner Richard's album will drop next month. And that's not all the 22-year-old has to boast about -- he's been crowned the best The Voice winner in the world by an international panel.
