Is it a TKO for Justin?

Justin Timberlake just released a new single off his upcoming album, and we’re pretty excited!

The buzz around his 20/20 Experience Part 2 of 2 album is huge and the anticipation is high! Well, we can scratch the itch just a bit while we enjoy the second single he released today, TKO, which describes Justin's infatuation with a woman he thought he’d got over from a previous relationship. However, after seeing her out with another man, his emotions get the best of him.

The track comes just 10 days ahead of the release of his album on 30 September. Before releasing the track Justin teased fans on Instagram by enquiring whether he should release a new song.

His first single, Take Back the Night, enjoyed moderate success since being released in July, peaking at no 29 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. However, there was uproar about the title of the track and Justin was slammed with threats of legal action.

A US sexual assault awareness organisation of the same name was unhappy about the song’s title. The executive director of the foundation, Katherine Koestner, said Justin used their name without asking, and he’s already received a letter from the group’s lawyers.

She went on to say, “Take Back the Night has a different definition. That’s not been helpful.” Especially since the message behind the Take Back The Night Foundation is about reclaiming power for victims of sexual abuse and violence against women. And Justin’s X-rated lyrics, well, they’re sexually explicit and definitely not in line with what the foundation stands for.

But back to the album, Justin shared a few details. He confirmed Jay-Z and Drake will both make appearances on it.

On collaborating with Drake, he said, "Drake and I have been trying to get at each other about doing a record, and I think we'll probably do more together as time goes by as well." As for how it turned out? "He killed it."

Justin also confirmed another upcoming collaboration with Jay-Z and Nas on Timbaland-produced song Sinatra in the Sand. He even went on to comment on the much-talked-about Miley Cyrus MTV Video Music Awards performance, saying he hadn't seen the performance until afterwards but that he’d gathered it was considered a disaster.

When pushed to elaborate, he simply said, “My thoughts on it are it's the VMAs. You know what I mean? It's not the Grammys. We're talking about Madonna in a wedding dress humping the stage. We're talking about Britney doing a striptease. This cycle is not uncommon . . . She's young. Take it easy on her . . . I think the song's jamming when I hear it on the radio . . . I don't know, to me it's almost like if something like that doesn't happen at the VMAs then I feel like it was boring.”

Here’s the new track released just hours ago . . . What do you think?
