It’s a Barbie world

Valeria Lukyanova, the “human Barbie”, may have to watch the throne as more women are catching on to the human Barbie craze.

Could Alina Kovalevskaya be the new “human Barbie”?

The Barbie look-alike has become an online sensation, with her YouTube videos gaining hundreds of thousands of hits.

The 21 year old hails from Odessa, Ukraine- the same city as Valeria. In fact the two were once friends before their friendship fizzled out. And now Alina is eyeing the throne. Unlike Valeria (28), Alina claims that she has achieved her doll-like look without going under the knife. Instead she relies on her big eyes, small nose and plump lips. This is complemented by contact lenses to give her the glassy and blank doll-like stare. Alina studies psychology and social work at Odessa University. She says she would like to have two children one day. This is a far cry from Valeria who reportedly had breast augmentation and her ribs removed to look like Barbie. On top of it all, she made headlines a few months ago when she had decided to practice “Breatharianism” – a diet of just air and sunlight.

“In recent weeks I have not been hungry at all; I’m hoping it’s the final stage before I can subsist on air and light alone,” she told the International Business Times.

And then there’s the “extreme” Barbie doll Lacey Wildd.

The mother of six recently underwent her 36th surgery to look like the famous doll.

The 46 year old has had 12 breast augmentation surgeries which have left her with a size LLL chest. Because her breasts weigh a whopping 9.53 kg each, ordinary tasks can be quite a handful.  Wildd has to prop pillows underneath her while driving. As if that wasn’t bad enough, she can only use the back burners on her stove in case she burns her breasts while cooking.  And she is just beginning- she wants bigger breasts and derrière.

“I’m known as one of the most extreme plastic surgery patients in the world and I want to keep pushing the limits.”
