Former Hollywood bachelor George Clooney (55) really is a changed man these days! First came marriage to hotshot lawyer Amal Clooney (39) and then the news they're expecting twins.

Now for the first time the 55-year-old has spoken out about his wife's pregnancy, saying they can't wait.

"We are really happy and really excited. It's going to be an adventure," he said during a interview on the French program Rencontres de Cinema, adding, "We've sort of embraced it all . . . with arms wide open."

The Oceans Eleven actor and humanitarian, who married Lebanese-born Amal in 2014, also revealed how "very supportive" his friends were when he broke the news to them.

"It got really quiet," he recalled. "And they all just started making baby crying noises, and the whole table just busted up laughing."

Meanwhile his 77-year-old mother, Nina, recently let slip the sex of the twins, who are due in June. "It will be one of each! Yes, a boy and a girl. That’s what I’ve been told,' she revealed to celebrity website Radaronline from her Kentucky home.

"How marvellous! My husband and I are extremely excited.'

She remembers clearly the moment her famous son and daughter-in-law told them the big news. "We were with them and they told us together. We were all together, and it was lovely. It was just a personal moment."
