Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson are reportedly less than chummy with each other.

The two stars take the lead in raunchy flick Fifty Shades of Grey, which hit cinemas last week.

Based on the erotic novel by E. L. James, Jamie takes on the role a suave businessman Christian Grey. He takes shy student Anastasia Steele (Dakota) under his wing, and opens her eyes up to a whole new world of kinky sexual adventure.

'There are rumours Dakota felt Jamie was pretentious and wasn't throwing himself into the role enough'

While the pair get hot and steamy on set, in real life things are rumoured to be a lot cooler. Jamie and Dakota have been busy promoting the movie, but many have pointed out how awkward they look posing together.

"It wasn't like they had screaming rows on set; it was more just uncomfortable," a source divulged to British magazine Grazia. "There are rumours Dakota felt Jamie was pretentious and wasn't throwing himself into the role enough. And apparently Jamie thought she was unfriendly, had too much attitude and took herself too seriously."

Jamie took on the role last minute, after original Mr Grey Charlie Hunnam left the role over doubts he wouldn't do the part justice.

Despite the rumours, Fifty Shades director Sam Taylor-Johnson seems over the moon with her two lead stars.

"They came in together and were just roaring with laughter, being silly and trying to out-funny each other because they are both really funny people, and I thought, 'That's just perfect'," Sam recently told graziadaily.co.uk.

While the movie has received poor reviews it still managed to take the box office by storm on its opening weekend, setting new records both in the UK and America.

This week there was speculation that Sam won't be returning to helm the sequels because of her supposedly difficult working relationship with author E.L.
