Jamie Dornan says wife Amelia Warner is “massively supportive” of his role in Fifty Shades of Grey.

It was rumoured earlier this year that singer Amelia didn’t want her husband to star in a sequel to the box office hit, because of the raunchy content and intimate scenes.

However, Jamie has now dismissed the allegations, insisting that his spouse couldn’t be more supportive of his role as S&M lover Christian Grey.

'Of course she would have read the scripts well in advance'

Asked about the rumours, Jamie told the Daily Mail: “Total b****cks! Of course she would have read the scripts well in advance, and she's massively supportive of Fifty Shades."

Jamie stars alongside Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele in the movie adaptation of the first of author E.L. James’ erotic novels.

And the 32-year-old actor said he has every intention of reprising his role for the two sequels.

"The idea was that we honour the trilogy and do all three," Jamie said.

The Northern Irish actor also addressed some other claims about the film. In response to allegations of lack of chemistry with co-star Dakota, Jamie said movie bosses would never allowed him to take the role if that were true.

"They wouldn’t have shot the film with us if there was a chemistry problem... whatever chemistry means," he said. "You have to jump through a lot of hoops to get a part like this, and they simply wouldn’t have cast us."

Despite Fifty Shades being a huge box office hit, netting over $529 million (R6 billion) in just a month, it was less than critically acclaimed.

In fact, many critics said that the film didn’t have enough sex in it.
