Jennifer Aniston is “humbled” by her Golden Globes nomination.

Jennifer Aniston is “humbled” by her Golden Globes nomination. The actress received a nod Thursday morning in the Best Actress in a Drama category for her role in indie film Cake. The mention follows a Best Actress nomination from the Screen Actors Guild, building up buzz about a possible Oscar.

'It’s just all happening so fast and so beautifully'

“I’m just humbled,” she told “It’s just all happening so fast and so beautifully. The Globes are a big fun party and it’s so fun to celebrate with your peers.”

The role was a welcome one for Jennifer, who admittedly had to fight to earn it. She credits director Daniel Barnz with trusting her to do the film justice, playing the role of a woman drawn to a widower when a woman in her chronic pain group commits suicide.

“Daniel Barnz the director has said that, and it’s what I’m so grateful and thankful for about him, that he did sort of take the chance,” Jennifer said. “I begged and pleaded and promised I would go to the moon and back with him. It was an unexpected way to go and he believed in me.”

The 2015 Golden Globe Awards are scheduled to take place January 11.

It will be a big night for more than just Jennifer, who’s also celebrating a nomination for good pal Emily Blunt, who will compete in the category for Best Actress in a Comedy or Musical thanks to her role in Into the Woods.

“My friend Emily is nominated so I’m excited for her,” the actress gushed. “We’re just going to have a fun night.”
