Jim Carrey's on/off girlfriend Cathriona White has reportedly died by suicide.

The news was broken by TMZ, which claims the Los Angeles Police Department received a call on Monday night. When they visited a residence in the LA area, it's believed they found Irish Cathriona's body and a suicide note. In the note she reportedly references a breakup with Jim on September 24.
'We have all been hit with a lightning bolt'
Law enforcement allegedly told TMZ they found pills next to her body and that she died from a drug overdose. It's thought she was found by two friends who went to check on her on Monday.

On September 25, a day after the alleged breakup, she wrote a final Twitter message.

"Signing off Twitter, I hope I have been a light to my nearest and dearest. (Love) to yo (sic) all," she posted. Jim said he was saddened by Cathriona's death. "She was a truly kind and delicate Irish flower, too sensitive for this soil, to whom loving and being loved was all that sparkled," the 53-year-old said. "My heart goes out to her family and friends and to everyone who loved and cared about her. We have all been hit with a lightning bolt." Jim met Cathriona in 2012 and they dated for a few months before breaking up. They got together again in May this year.

"I did go out with an Irish girl. We're not seeing each other anymore," Jim said via Irish Independent around the time of their breakup in 2012. "But she is lovely."
