Johnny Depp and Amber Heard have married, it has been reported.

The 51-year-old actor and his 28-year-old fiancée allegedly tied the knot at their Los Angeles home on Tuesday, a source told People. The ceremony is believed to have just been a small event to make their union legal. They are said to be planning to mark the nuptials in style with a bigger, more extravagant occasion on Johnny’s private Bahamian island – Little Hall’s Pond Cay.

'Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart'

However, the day will still be intimate, with just 50 guests attending, according to Page Six.

Among them will be Johnny's two children Lily-Rose and Jack, whose mother is Vanessa Paradis.

Johnny has been married once before, but although he was with Vanessa for 14 years, they never tied the knot. The star previously explained he just never felt the need because he didn't think it would have much effect on their relationship.

"I never found myself needing that piece of paper," he said in 2010. "Marriage is really from soul to soul, heart to heart. You don't need somebody to say, OK you're married.

"If Vanessa wanted to get hitched, why not. But the thing is, I'd be so scared of ruining her last name. She's got such a good last name."

Johnny and Amber have been an item since 2012, after meeting on the set of The Rum Diary. Johnny popped the question the following year and has been rocking an engagement ring ever since.

The actor has been engaged several times, to Jennifer Grey, Sherilyn Fenn and Winona Ryder.
