Johnny Depp’s two Yorkshire Terriers are supposedly flying back to California.

The 51-year-old is currently in Australia filming Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales.

After Johnny brought his dogs Boo and Pistol with him to the country without declaring them, Australian Agriculture Minister Barnaby Joyce threatened to euthanise the animals if they weren’t sent back home to the United States by Saturday.

'why don't we just break the laws for everybody'

And according to TMZ, Johnny has put them on a private jet from Oz to California. It’s claimed they departed on Friday afternoon, with hours to spare until the animals would have been put down.

“The Minister said Johnny and [his wife] Amber Heard never declared the pups when they touched down in Oz last month, so they were never quarantined ... which is required for all animals entering the country,” the website writes.

But apparently Johnny is not off the hook yet, as the Minister informed TMZ the actor “will likely have to pay a hefty fine”. This would be a lenient punishment for the crime of animal smuggling in Australia, as being convicted of the biosecurity offence could land someone in jail for up to 10 years.

Minister Joyce previously claimed authorities caught wind of the situation when Johnny was getting their fur maintained at a doggy salon.

"We found out he snuck them in because we saw him taking them to a poodle groomer. Now Mr Depp has to either take his dogs back to California or we're going to have to euthanise them,” the politician told reporters, according to 612 ABC Brisbane. "You start letting in movie stars, even though they have been the sexiest man alive twice, who come into our nation, why don't we just break the laws for everybody.

"If dogs come in and they have rabies ... the whole life in Brisbane changes. They won't be so sympathetic to Depp at that point in time.”
