Julianne Moore has reportedly been cut from a Turkish advertisement because of “poor acting”.

The 54-year-old is believed to have filmed a promotional video titled Home Of, which showed her travelling in an airplane while recalling childhood memories of her visits to Turkey. But according to the Hürriyet Daily News, the country’s Culture and Tourism Ministry were unhappy with the actress’ performance.

Julianne was reportedly asked to reshoot the footage but the request was turned down. The project was then cancelled, and despite the fact that the Still Alice star won an Academy Award this year, a ministry source told the outlet that her “poor acting” was cited as the reason for the plug being pulled.

'I like really human stories'

The redhead shot the original material last year in Los Angeles and it was supposed to make its debut in Turkey that February. The Ministry hasn’t released a statement on the canned footage as it does not comment on “unfinished projects”.

A representative for Julianne is also yet to acknowledge the reports.

However the star seems to have put the scenario behind her and is busy filming Maggie’s Plan with Ethan Hawke and can next be seen onscreen in The Hunger Games Mockingjay Part 2 in the fall. However Julianne recently admitted she gets bemused by people’s perceptions of the roles she plays.

“Some people say, 'You play happy people,' and I'm like, 'No.' Or, 'You play people who have affairs,' and I'm like, 'No.' Or, 'You play lesbians,' and I'm like, 'No!' I've made 50-something movies, so there's a lot of different people. I like really human stories," she explained to the US edition of Harper’s Bazaar.
