Kanye West apologises to Nike

Rapper Kanye West sure knows how to put his foot in it. He has lately been drawing attention to the fashion industry and how he feels he is being marginalised.

Kanye has a shoe range with Nike called Nike Air Yeezy 2 Red October. But he recently called out Nike’s CEO Mark Parker during his performance on his Yeezus tour.

“They let me sip that clean water when they let me make them Yeezys, and they saw how the universe reacted. They tried to make it as small as possible. Mark Parker even talked shit, talking 'bout he don't even know why people like the Yeezys. They liked them like they liked the Jordans because I was in fourth grade getting kicked out for drawing Jordans, for being connected to that emotion as a creative.”

Um, okay, Kanye . . . We’re not quite sure what he’s getting at but he’s since apologised to Nike for his rant.

“I really do feel honored to have had the chance to blow Yeezy up with Nike and I really appreciate everything they did for me,” he said in an interview. “I’m not knocking them on the way out or burning no bridges, you know, I apologise for my frustration earlier. I just think it’s time. It’s go time. It’s turn up time.”

Perhaps he’s eating humble pie now that he’s signed a deal worth $10 million plus royalties with Adidas.
