Kylie Jenner admits she has an “addiction” to dyeing her hair.

The 18-year-old Keeping Up with the Kardashians star has gone through multiple colours in the past couple of years.

And sporting a new hue so frequently boosts Kylie’s confidence.

'It makes me feel like a new person'

"I first dyed my hair when I was 16. I dyed it blue and I never even asked my mom. After that, I've just had this addiction to changing my hair," she wrote on her website. "It makes me feel like a new person. I love feeling different and I love leaving the house knowing that nobody has ever seen me this way.

“Constantly changing up my style makes me feel creative and it helps me with my confidence. If any of you are going through something in your life and you want a change, experiment with your hair—it’s so much fun and you’ll feel totally liberated. It just makes me feel so good about myself. In the end, always own your own style and your own judgment and people will support you.”

However, dyeing so much has negative consequences, as Kylie’s hair gets weakened from exposure to chemicals.

She creates wigs when her hair needs a break from dyeing.

“I’ve had to find ways to really try and take care of it and give it a rest,” she explained. “I discovered this amazing wig guy, Tokyo, and together we create wigs. Wigs are just SO much easier because I change my mind so much and this way I’m not damaging my hair.”

Kylie will continue to alter her hair frequently for the foreseeable future, as she is not a huge fan of her natural tresses.

“It’s hard for me to go back to different styles I’ve worn before; I don’t always like my normal short, black hair,” she detailed. “That look makes me feel like I’m going back in time. It’s like I’m going back to that moment a year ago and I just don’t want be in that space.”
