Lady Gaga has reportedly decided against wearing a "bovine dress" for her wedding.

The 29-year-old singer got engaged to actor Taylor Kinney in February, following a romance of around four years. They are now eagerly planning their nuptials and though many might expect the star to go all out thanks to her love of wild outfits - such as the meat dress she wore to the 2010 MTV Video Music Awards - she's apparently decided to tone things down.

"After much thought, it's been decided there won't be any bovine dresses or fire-breathing priests," a source explained to British magazine Heat. "She's taking this step seriously and will marry Taylor as Stefani Germanotta [her real name], not Gaga."

'She's taking this step seriously'

This will come as a surprise to many, especially as it's thought her gown will be traditional. There is no word on exactly what it will look like at the moment, but she is said to have stuck to the designers she knows when it comes to the dress for her big day. "Stefani is much more low-key than Gaga. She's commissioned her Haus of Gaga team to design the dress, but it's very simple and elegant," the insider said. "It's going to be a big traditional Italian wedding and she wants the reception to be held at her dad's restaurant." The news that Gaga has gone for her in-house team to create the biggest fashion moment of her life comes as something of a surprise, as the lady herself had hinted she was going down the designer route in the past. Although she hasn't disclosed her wedding date, last month the star told her Twitter followers that she had already started thinking about what she'd be wearing. "Thanku to all the very special&generous designers who designed over 30 wedding dresses 4 the most important day of my life. I'm speechless (sic)," she wrote.
