Lindsay Lohan takes better care of herself now she lives in London.

The flame-haired star moved to England last year when she starred in West End play Speed-the-Plow.

Her performance impressed critics and theatregoers alike, and New York native Lindsay feels settled in the British capital.

'I’m much happier here'

"I’d always wanted to make the move to London, but I don’t think I was in the right place. I wasn’t ready. I still wanted to run around, and moving to another country on your own is a big deal. But I came here for days and ended up staying for months, and now that I’m here I’m happy. I work more. I take better care of myself," she smiled to Hunger magazine.

“I’m much happier here. I love New York too, but it’s too late for me. I’ve seen pretty much all there is to see. I don’t need to see it all over again.”

For a while Lindsay was notorious for her party-girl ways and was better known for her scandals than film work.

However, after her last stint in rehab in 2013 - a 90-day court ordered sentence in connection to a car crash she was involved in followed by community service - the 28-year-old seems to have shunned her former lifestyle.

This may be in part down to her move across the pond.

"The last time I went to LA it was my friend’s birthday and we went to this karaoke place. It was the same people, the same faces, nothing had changed. It felt very unevolved," she explained.

“I’ve seen so much in the past three years and I’m ready to put to bed the reason I had to stay in LA - my court stuff, the community service. No one thought I was going to finish. My dad didn’t think I was going to finish. And if I didn’t, they were going to give me jail time. I was like, ‘Of course I’m going to finish.’”
