Father-of-six Chester Bennington was reportedly found dead this morning.

Chester Bennington has reportedly committed suicide. The lead singer of Linkin Park (41) was allegedly found dead at a private residence in Palos Verdes Estates in Los Angeles County on Thursday morning. According to TMZ, the rockstar hanged himself. His cause of death has yet to be confirmed. His Linkin Park bandmate Mike Shinoda tweeted his devastation at the news.

The In The End singer, who battled with alcohol and drug addiction, once admitted he had considered suicide because he was abused by an older man when Chester was just seven years old.

"My God, no wonder I became a drug addict," Chester said in a 2011 interview. "No wonder I just went completely insane for a little while."

Chester's death falls on his late friend Chris Cornell's birthday. The Soundgarden rocker killed himself in May by hanging.

Chester is survived by his six children and wife of 12 years, model Talinda Ann Bentley.

Much-loved band Linkin Park have dominated rock charts for decades -- their album Meteroa was one of the biggest alternative albums in music history, according to Billboard.

The band's latest album, One More Light, dropped earlier this year. The latest release is called "Good Goodbye".
