It’s perfect for a quick Friday lunch, a lazy Saturday morning or a late-night snack. Most people love French toast and this recipe will have your whole family digging in.

You’ll need:

  • 4 slices of bread
  • 3 eggs
  • ¼ cup milk
  • 2 cups cornflakes
  • Butter

What to do:

  1. Cut each bread slice diagonally into triangles.
  2. Place the bread triangles in a dish.
  3. Break eggs into a bowl.
  4. Add the milk to the eggs and mix well with a fork.
  5. Pour the milk mixture over the bread in the dish. Turn the bread triangles with an egg lifter to ensure both sides are completely coated with the egg mixture.
  6. Put cornflakes in a plastic bag, fasten it and crush the cereal with a rolling pin.
  7. Put the crushed corn flakes in a shallow dish.
  8. Put the butter in a frying pan.
  9. Heat the butter over medium heat until melted.
  10. Using the egg lifter, remove the bread triangles from the egg mixture and put them on top of the crushed corn flakes. Turn them so both sides are covered with crushed corn flakes.
  11. Put the bread triangles in the hot melted butter and fry (in batches if necessary) for about 4 minutes or until golden underneath. Use the egg lifter to turn them and fry the other side for 4 minutes or until golden.
  12. Serve with syrup, fried bacon or caster sugar.
