A 36-year-old man has been arrested in connection with Radovan Krejcir's case. He is alleged to have provided the alleged Krejcir hitmen with GPS co-ordinates of the victim's location.

The owner of a private security company has been arrested in connection with the case of Czech fugitive Radovan Krejcir, police said on Friday.

"It is alleged he was providing the alleged Krejcir hitmen with GPS co-ordinates of the victim's location," Lt-Gen Solomon Makgale said.

The 36-year-old man was arrested in Durban on Thursday.

"This is a massive success and the national police commissioner Riah Phiyega congratulated the Krejcir investigating team.

"She said she is extremely proud of the excellent work they are doing," Makgale said.

The man was expected to appear in the Alexandra Magistrate's Court on Friday with Krejcir and eight others.

The men would appear on charges of conspiracy to commit murder and possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition.

They are accused of conspiring to kill police Colonel Nkosana "Killer" Ximba and forensic investigator Paul O'Sullivan.

They are also expected to appear for the murder of Phumlani Ncube who was murdered last year July.

Krejcir, Siboniso Miya, police sergeant Nandi Nkosi, and Nkanyiso Mafunda were charged with the murder of Ncube.

Makgale said police were in a strong position to charge Krejcir and his associates for the murder of Sam Issa.

At the time of the murder, IOL reported that Issa was a drug trafficker.

Issa was shot dead on October 12 in Bedfordview, Johannesburg, while sitting in his Audi Q7. A white Ford Ranger pulled up next to him and the occupants opened fire and killed him.

Makgale said police had found the weapons used to kill Issa.

"The Krejcir investigators are convinced that Issa was shot and killed with both an AK47 rifle and a 9mm pistol," Makgale said.

He said earlier reports that Issa was killed with an R5 rifle were not true.

"The ballistic report on the R5 rifle recovered in January in Rivonia came back negative," Makgale said.
