Tony 'The Fridge' Phoenix-Morrison has completed two gruelling marathons with a heavy fridge strapped to his back in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

A man ran two marathons with a fridge strapped to his back.

Tony Phoenix-Morrison - known as Tony the Fridge - completed the London Marathon alongside over 30 000 people, but when he reached the finish line after running for nearly 48 km, his epic journey was far from over.

The inspiring character then ran a further 42 km, all with a fridge weighing more than 40kg strapped to his back, in order to raise money for Cancer Research UK.

Speaking about the gruelling challenge he said: "If you have lost somebody you love to cancer, if you are fighting cancer right now, if you have been affected by cancer in any way, every step I take is a tribute to you."

Tony has been raising money since 2012 and originally asked people to post any donations through a hole in his fridge, but he's now making it easier for charity givers as they can simply text FRID93 to 70070 followed by the amount they wish to donate.
