Manchester City’s thrilling, last-gasp victory in the English Premier League shows money talks – and they have plenty of it.

On the final day of this season’s English Premier League the hundreds of millions of pounds invested in Manchester City finally paid off, bringing jubilation to fans who’d waited more than 40 years to see their team win a league title.


 - spent by Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan to transform Manchester City since he bought the club in 2008.

£266 million (R3,3 billion) - spent by Man City on players in the first three years under Al Nahyan.

£197 million (R2,4 billion) - Manchester City’s losses in the 2010-11 financial year – the biggest in Premiership history.
